From a healthy pastime snack to a filling main-course, chickpeas can be added to the diet in a lot of innovative ways.Preparation time: 75 minutes Cooking time: 15 minutes Makes: 15-20 chickpea balls.Ingredients• 250 g raw or 400 g boiled chickpeas• 4 cloves of garlic• 1 medium onion• 1 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves chopped• 2 teaspoons cumin• 2 teaspoons powdered coriander• 2 tablespoon gram flour• Salt, red chilli powder and pepper for taste• 2 tablespoon oilMethod1. Soak the chickpeas into a large bowl filled with water and a pinch of salt for about 6 hours, or overnight.2. Place them in a pressure cooker and cook for 3 whistles, until soft. When done, drain them into a strainer.3. Place some paper towels on a large tray and transfer the boiled chickpeas and let them dry out completely.4. In the meantime, finely chop the onions and garlic. Saute them in oil until tender.5. In a food processor, add the boiled chickpeas, then saute onions and garlic, along with cumin and coriander powder.6. Mix all the ingredients and stir for 2-3 minutes till all the ingredients are combined.7. Add the chickpea mixture, chopped coriander leaves, gram flour, salt, chilli powder and pepper in a large bowl and mix well. Roll the mixture into balls.8. Bake them in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees Celsius forabout 25 minutes. Brush the bottom of the baking tray and the top of the balls with some oil.9. Halfway through cooking time, flip the balls and put them back in the oven.10.
